Forgotten through the ages,
In the endless depths of time
Lie the memories of beloved elves
Within this heart of mine

'Twas elves I met at young an age,
In an old dusty book
It happened to be a rainy day
That I read it in a nook

The book began, and I went forth,
To different wonderlands
From quaint old cities, to stormy seas,
And quiet desert sands

Then finally I met these folk,
These wondrous little elves
I gathered courage and said to them,
"Do tell me about yourselves"

They told of all sorts of simple things
In their very wondrous tales
Of white soft snow and mantled moss,
And pleasant rolling dales

Then suddenly they grew so sad,
And some began to cry
They said, "Now that Man has come forth,
We shall soon surely die"

"For Men kill lovely trees and streams
And do other evil deeds
And soon there shall be no more good,
No leaves, no snow, no seeds"

So now it is that they only stay,
In pages of a book
Yet they still live in the memory,
Of the boy who read in a nook
one of those sudden ideas dat spring 2 mind...dat's wat da 1st stanza did
